Hockey For Food[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”5298″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]About Hockey for Food:
Join us for an entertaining afternoon of road hockey inspired by Five Hole For Food, hosted by Topaz Hockey involving friendly games between members of our city! The purpose is to bring our city together for a fun event out of the office, and to raise much needed food and funds for the transformative programs being offered at The Mustard Seed Street Church. Our vision is to get to the root causes of addictions and poverty, breaking their cycle and bring hope to the whole person.
Just bring a hockey stick to play!
Registered teams will be scheduled into a time slot to play against another team. There will also be a rink available for open play (dependant on number of teams registered) – a great place for kids to get their game on![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]When: Saturday, July 8th, 2017

- High protein items (beans, lentils, canned fish/meat, peanut butter)
- Large bags of rice/pasta
- Lunch snacks and juice boxes/1 litre tetras of juice
- Quick side-meals (Sidekicks, Kraft Dinner, Hamburger Helper, etc.)
- Special diet foods: gluten free, vegetarian, diabetic friendly
- Ramen noodle soups (Mr. Noodle, Ichiban)
- Cookies & crackers
- How do I register?
Call Lisa at 250-953-1591 or email at Lisa@mustardseed.ca. Include your company/organization name, team name and contact info: name, phone, email and # of players
- How many players do I need?
5 players + 1 goalie, up to 11 players + 1 goalie
- Do I need to bring my own equipment?
We encourage players to bring their own equipment to the event. There’s nothing like that custom curve that only you know how to use! We recommend bringing gloves, as well. This is a non-competitive event, so safety gear like helmets, shin guards etc. are not necessary. Please note that this event is no-contact; unnecessary rough play may result in ending the game early.
- What about goalies?
We ask that you bring your own stick and padding/helmet. For items available to loan, we will ask you to provide your drivers license or other ID for collateral for its safe-return.
- Are there any age restrictions?
There are no restrictions to participate. Teams will comprise a mix of players over 16 years old. If there are enough youth under 16, a kid’s game for younger players will be available. Bring the whole family!
- Hockey just for guys?
Of course not! We encourage co-ed teams.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column 0=””][vc_column_text]
