Summer Student Hospitality Intern Paid 8 Weeks
This position is to be part of our Hospitality Team and to walk alongside our community members, staff and volunteers in our Drop In, Hospitality Chapel, community and meal programs. Specifically, to be present and available to talk with people, help with the weekday lunch program, Friday and Saturday meal program, clothing bank and chapel services. Also, research for program development including asking those we serve and possible planning and implementing community-building, transformative programs. With the Hospitality Team, the possible enactment of new hospitality programming initiatives (specifically related to Clothing Bank and Health/Wellness programs). This position may involve evening and weekend work.
This position is for 8 weeks, 30 hours a week at the wage of $14. an hour. The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Criminal record check.
The funding for this position is from a Canada Summer Jobs Grant and applicants must meet the following requirements:
a) is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
b) was registered as a full-time student during the previous academic year and intends to return to school fulltime in September
c) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee status has been confered
d) legally entitled to work according to relevant BC legislation.
