Summer Student Church Community Developer Paid 8 Weeks
To research and develop community based programs in the Mustard Seed Street Church in order to incorporate and empower low income individuals and create community within the Mustard Seed.
To assist in starting a youth outreach service to low income housing complexes by creating a youth based program. The program would be set up to help youth with school work and life skills.
To help the Church Pastor in accomplishing administrative tasks in the Mustard Seed Street Church.
To be involved in finding one’s own strengths and gifting in order to utilize these gifts for the Mustard Seed Street Church and future endeavors in one’s life. This will include taking a “Strength’s Finder 2.0” self-test and a “Church Ministry” strengths self-test, and applying these findings to the work context of the Mustard Seed.
Since the grant applied is for less hours than than hoped, this description will need to be modified as time allows. This position will have access to highly confidential information so an acceptable criminal record check must be in place before the successful candidate begins.
This position is for 8 weeks, 30 hours a week at the wage of $14. an hour. The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Criminal record check.
The funding for this position is from a Canada Summer Jobs Grant and applicants must meet the following requirements:
a) is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
b) was registered as a full-time student during the previous academic year and intends to return to school fulltime in September
c) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee status has been confered
d) legally entitled to work according to relevant BC legislation.
