About the Farm:
Hope Farm Healing Centre, a 36 acre mixed-use farm in the Cowichan Valley, is
a ministry of the Mustard Seed Street Church. Our program for men seeking to be free from addictions is comprised of three stages and spans a six month to a one year commitment. Hope Farm offers a Sanctuary of Hope inviting our residents to rediscover ways of being that enable them to make lasting changes to their lives.

Daily Structure:
Hope Farm relies on a structured rhythm, a framework for the week. The rhythm of life at Hope Farm is made up of work, rest, worship, community, shared meals, teaching, and counselling. Hope Farm is emphatically Christian, and sees becoming a follower of Christ to be not only a good recovery strategy, but the primary aim in life.
Hope Farm is not for everyone: Six months is a serious commitment. But for those ready to make s
uch a commitment, Hope Farm can offer an opportunity to practice recovery in a safe, and supportive, yet challenging environment. Participation in the activities of the farm is an integral part of the healing process at Hope Farm. Work, healing and learning provides a foundation on which residents can re-build their lives.
Farm Operations:
Serving the residents are the Farm Director, Manager, Farmer, Cook, Certified Counsellor, and 24/7 care giving staff.
The residents work under the direction of Hope Farm staff to provide the labour required for all aspects of farm operations.
Hope Farm currently grows vegetables, grain, and hay, as well as caring for about 400 laying hens, broiler chickens, beef cattle, and a small flock of sheep.
The facilities include a five-bedroom Stage One house, a two-bedroom Stage Two house, and a four-bedroom Stage Three house, a building for teaching and counseling, barns, workshop, and warehouse.

Our Background:
The Mustard Seed Street Church has been in Victoria for over 30 years. The ministry is to families and singles, those in need, those who are under-privileged, and those struggling with addictive/destructive lifestyles.
The Mustard Seed Street Church is an incorporated non-profit society registered charity, and a member of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada.
