The Mustard Seed is navigating the balance of continuing to serve our city’s most vulnerable while keeping our staff safe and the community healthy. Below is some information on the changes in our service due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Food Bank (625 Queens Ave):
The Food Bank is providing emergency food in pre-made hampers Monday-Friday 10AM-1PM.
Starting October 13, we will have limited access to the Guest Services and Market area. We ask that only a maximum of two people per household come to pick up groceries. If you are sick or have any symptoms related to Covid-19 (cough, fever, trouble breathing, sore throat) please stay home and have someone pick up for you.
Bagged lunches will be served Monday-Friday 12PM-1PM.
We have put out physical distance markings in our parking lot area to allow for people to safely come and get what they need.
Take out dinners will be served Friday and Saturday from 6PM until 8PM.
Food Distribution Centre (808b Viewfield Rd)
Our distribution centre is open from 9AM-2PM Monday to Friday.
Only staff and a few screened volunteers are allowed on site. Food orders will be placed in dock bay doors and agencies will pick up outside of the warehouse.
We are currently serving
200 people lunch daily
200+ pre-made hampers to families daily
70 agencies fresh produce/veggies and dairy (impacting 40,000)
