The Mustard Seed
Treska was born and raised in Victoria. After school she pursued a career in hospitality on the West Coast in Tofino and then with Canada Post in leadership on the North Island and Sunshine Coast. It was always her goal to return to Victoria and give back to the city she loves. In 2019 she was able to make the switch from corporate to non-profit and she hasn’t looked back since. Bringing her love of people, strong communication skills and a passion to serve our community, Treska has found her place at the Seed. When not at work she can be found exploring this beautiful island we call home, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
The Mustard Seed Street Church has been a part of Chris’ life as far back as he can remember. He grew up in Victoria, and some of his earliest memories, are of service and worship in community with the people of the Mustard Seed. It was the love that he learned of in Jesus, that he saw so freely expressed within the community, people caring for one another and being a source of belonging for one another, that would lead him back to the Mustard Seed years later. Now, he simply loves to be a part of this family; and, together in community sharing in the story of Hope, that we come to know in Jesus Christ, in all kinds of creative ways. Matthew 11:28-30.
Clint Rose is proud to have worked as part of the Mustard Seed team since 2016. Having helped run a small family business, he brought to the Seed a passion for organizational efficiency and productivity, which he is able to translate into the faithful stewardship of the many resources the Mustard Seed is entrusted with, in service to those who need them most.
Emily began as a practicum student in Guest Services in 2014 but has served in several different departments over the years, making her a great fit for the People & Culture role. Having the opportunity to move around has allowed her to gain a deeper care and understanding of the organization as well as build on her communication skills, creativity, love of community and helping others. Born and raised in Ontario, but an Island Girl since 2009, when Emily is not at work she enjoys downtime at home with her cats and her partner, learning a new craft, travelling, and curling up on the couch with a good book or movie.
Claudia found in Victoria and at The Mustard Seed the community she was looking for when she arrived from Brazil a few years ago. She joined the Development team in 2022, bringing over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Her background spans program management, communications, grant writing, events, and human resources. Passionate about building connections and making a difference, Claudia is grateful to be part of an organization that serves the community. When not at work, she enjoys discovering new places on the Island with family and friends, volunteering at her daughter’s school, and spending time with her cat.
Melina brings over 25 years of experience in the non-profit and human services sector, shaped by work in senior care, corrections in a fly-in-only northern community, and leadership in emergency shelter services in Vancouver. Originally from Alberta, she discovered a street church in Edmonton, where she found a lifelong call to follow Jesus among the poor. This calling led her family to spend nine years living in intentional Christian community in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Now rooted on the Island, Melina serves as Assistant Director of Finance and Administration here at The Mustard Seed, where she brings together financial stewardship, organizational care, and missional leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys board games, tending to her chickens, and camping with her family in their beloved 1987 motorhome.
