Aboriginal LegalAid BC provides legal aid in British Columbia and helps Aboriginal peoples in BC understand their legal rights by providing legal information and connecting communities to legal support. Aboriginal LegalAid BC follows the lead of our Indigenous Services division, who work to meet the legal needs of Aboriginal peoples in BC through innovative and culturally informed legal aid services. Legal Aid BC recently developed Aboriginal LegalAid BC’s Reconciliation Action Plan, which guides their ongoing commitment to reconciliation.

The Everyone Legal Clinic offers low-cost legal services to all British Columbians on a fixed-fee basis— in person or by virtual connection. Articling clinicians work under the supervision of practicing lawyers, and provide affordable help for family, tenancy/strata, employment, wills/estates, civil, corporate, consumer or criminal law issues.

South Island Wellness Society – Indigenous Justice Program (SIWS-IJP) provides opportunities for restorative justice to address with conflicts involving our community members in a more culturally appropriate manner and in a way that is community-focused and community-driven. This program empowers Indigenous people by creating a setting that is easier to relate to than the court system, holding those in conflict more accountable, giving community members the opportunity to be involved in the justice process, and having more meaningful outcomes for those involved.
