Church
Sunday Service
1:30 PM at 625 Queens Ave, Victoria, BC, V8T 1L9
OUR WELCOME IS FOR ALL. Come and experience fellowship with a group of people whose hearts are very sensitive and interested toward those who feel alone or broken; in this movement, inspired by the Spirit of Christ together, we walk closer with Jesus, and our relationship with God deepens.
Prayer
Sundays 12:45 PM
On Sunday afternoons, arrive early to pray with us before the service, usually around 1245pm. Also, after Church in our Prayer Room (behind the sanctuary) we can find time some time to pray in small groups for one another, for our city, and the world.
This year, The Mustard Seed Street Church celebrates 50 years of serving and loving our community in Greater Victoria. From a small prayer space under a stairwell in Rev. Gipp Forster’s poster shop to a thriving ministry offering food, hospitality, and hope to tens of thousands, our story has always been rooted in faith, compassion, and the presence of Jesus among the most vulnerable.
To honour this milestone, we are thrilled to share a special project:
our 2025 Advent Devotional Series featuring the treasured “Ramblings” of our founder, Rev. Gipp Forster.
Gipp was a poet, pastor, and storyteller whose heart beat for people on the margins. His reflections are raw, honest, tender, and deeply grounded in the love of Christ. Through these devotional readings, you’ll find stories of street life, unexpected kindness, sacred encounters, and the quiet beauty of Christmas seen through the eyes of a man who truly met Jesus in the everyday.
This year’s Advent Devotional is more than a reading plan.
It is:
As we reflect on where we’ve come from and what God has done over five decades, may these devotionals draw you deeper into the wonder, hope, and love of Jesus Christ.
Join us in this journey toward Christmas.
Devotions
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM
On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings we have a time of fellowship and prayer specifically for our staff and volunteer teams. This is also open for all who would like to come, and to deepen a sense of belonging in ministry at the Mustard Seed Street Church.
MidWeek Spiritual Formation
Wednesdays 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
We have some time each we to dial into the scriptures together. This is pastor-led and open and safe for all to come, to ask questions, and dig deeper into God’s Word and will for our lives. ‘And this eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’ John 17:3. Getting to know our Creator-God, and being in a good way following Jesus Christ, is the hope for our community Bible Study.
Mens Group
Thursdays 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
A group of support and care for men on Thursdays at noon in the prayer room. Come and find trued belonging, feel supported, and forge new strength.
Hope Farm Worship Evenings and Farm Crew
The Mustard Seed has a farm in the Cowichan Valley called Hope Farm Healing Centre. While we continue to prayerfully prepare for a new beginning in our Recovery/Healing Ministries we continue to work the fields and offer a time each month to gather in prayer and worship at the farm. There is an opportunity to join a Farm Crew once each month, and on the first Sunday of each month from 530pm – 8pm we meet at the Farm Chapel for a great meal, fellowship, prayer, and worship.

We are delighted to share a special treat with our MSSC community this Christmas season. This album, originally recorded on vinyl, was expertly transferred to digital a few days ago. Narrated by Gipp Forster, founder of The Mustard Seed Street Church, this album carries a powerful and timeless message that resonates deeply with the spirit of the season.
We invite you to listen and reflect on its meaningful message this Christmas season.
